The US Mower RaZor is a high quality flail mower fabricated almost entirely from DOMEX ( a remarkable Swedish steel which has the 100,000 psi yield of A-514 (T-1), but is more ductile than A-36 (mild steel). This strength and ductility results in high impact tolerance allowing these machines to stand up to the rigorous treatment brush mowers receive and last for years. The polyester powder coat finish protects the metal against abrasion better than paint and resists UV fading many times better than paint. The 6” cutter shaft is not made from 35,000 psi yield pipe, but 70,000 psi yield 5/8 “ wall DOM tubing. Drive is via a 1 1/4” spline into a USM designed overhung load adapter driving a banded V-belt system on 7” pulleys rated at 94hp (1.0 service factor).
